Bobby Sheets is an average guy with a way-above-average wife and three off-the-chart kids. He has worked with young people for 30 years in a variety of arenas before becoming the senior pastor at Riverside Community Church in September of 2009.

He is an inspirational speaker who uses visuals, audience participation, story telling and humor to get his message across. Bobby is a graduate of Lincoln Christian University.

In his spare time he enjoys coaching youth sports, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, losing golf balls on the golf course, reading children's books, watching John Wayne movies, going to rodeos and story telling.

Nat Bauer
Associate Pastor for Worship

An East Coast transplant to the heartland, Nat Bauer joined the Riverside Community Church ministry team in 2004. He graduated from Nyack College in Nyack, N.Y., with a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree and then received his Masters in Trumpet and Choral Conducting from Manhattan School of Music in New York City. He was ordained to the ministry in 1968.

Prior to coming to Riverside, he pastored churches in Indiana and Illinois and directed music programs in Brooklyn, N.Y.; Virginia; Illinois and Indiana.

Nat coordinates and facilitates the musical content of all aspects of worship at Riverside. He also works with the pastor to provide spiritual guidance through Bible studies, counseling and preaching. Nat also does weddings and funerals as the need arises.

His wife Norma has been a spiritual, emotional and musical support throughout his ministry. Their three children and their families live in the immediate area.

Frank Zimmerman
Youth Pastor

Born and raised in the Rockford area, Frank Zimmerman is truly blessed with a wonderful wife and four children who are each an inspiration in his life. Frank graduated from Belvidere High School and attended Rock Valley College before serving in the US Air Force.

After his service, Frank felt an overwhelming call from God - he worked to receive a bachelors degree in Christian counseling, and in January 2010 was ordained Minister of Christian Counseling. That same year, Frank became the youth pastor of Riverside Community Church. He is currently working towards a masters degree in counseling, specializing in working with family and children.

In his spare time, Frank enjoys spending time sharing a meal and some games with his family. He also enjoys watching his favorite NFL team - Da Bears.

Cindy Scull
Director of Children's Ministry

Shortly after becoming a member in 2006, Cindy served as chair over the children's Sunday school committee, working with the children's pastors. When the pastors resigned in 2008, she was asked to take over their duties, but feeling she just wasn't the right person for the job, Cindy declined.

In 2009, the new children's pastor convinced Cindy that she was already doing the job in the background. When the second pastor moved away, Cindy was again asked to head the program. It was then God helped her realize that this was the position He wanted for her. But she was not a pastor, nor did she intend to become one, so how could she be the right person? Pastor Bobby explained it was about doing what she had been doing – serving God by running the children's program.

Cindy took over as leader of the Sunday school program in 2011 and has not looked back. "I love these kids as if they were my own. It's a hard thing to stop hearing God once you finally hear the call. I feel it every week when I look into their eyes or hear the kids say something about God, or just how much they love being here at church with us."
